A Moment With Scripture
Reflections on THE WORD
About the Author…
Born in 1958, Pacheco, CA
66 years old as of the setting up of this Blog. Was “called” to share my understanding of the world through the lens of Scripture. I have been a Pastor, though not now. I have been a Confessor, though not now. I have been a Preacher, though not now. I have been a teacher, though not now. I am a student; I am a prayer; I am a Christian; I am a Pilgrim on a Divine Journey; and I humbly invite you to join me as we share A Moment With Scripture.

Our Foundation…
I believe that Scripture is the Living Inspired WORD OF GOD. God inspired the authors of each Book to write it for future generations. He did not dictate what was to be written, but rather moved the author to put pen to paper and share their faith with you and I. As you know, Scripture is a collection of texts. They represent many things: Ancient Oral Traditions past down from generation to generation; Family stories and bibliophiles; collections of poetry and song; Prayers echoing in the hearts of the faithful; Responses to answered prayers; texts that were lost to time and found again; Eye witness accounts of God and Jesus, working amongst the people; Words from leaders in the early church as groups gathered together to share lives and break bread together; Letter written to individuals and communities for correction, encouragement, teaching, and praise; and so much more.
I believe that Scripture is the Living Inspired WORD OF GOD. And just as others were inspired to write it, we are inspired when we read it or hear it, alone and with others. Theologians have spent centuries interpreting it. Pastor have preached it in Churches across the world. And in our own heart and souls, God has whispered his truth to each of us. It is a Living Word which means many more will interpret it for their lives and times. Yet no one, as far as I know, completely understands the depth of it blessing to mankind. Moved by God, Paul wrote these words to the community in Rome: “Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor? Who has ever given to God, that God should repay them? For from his and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.”
My prayer is that each of us, as we take A Moment With Scripture let it dwell in our mind and soul, allowing God to speak is Wisdom and Love to us each day. Amen.
